Dear Inverclyde Community Members,
Inverclyde Alcohol and Drug Partnership (IADP) Members would like to invite you to come along to some exciting events we have planned throughout August and September 2024, in recognition of Recovery Month.
Each September, Recovery Month celebrates the strength of recovery communities, individuals making their own recovery journeys, the families that support them, and the dedicated services helping along the way. This year, we have planned a variety of events to mark the occasion, and we would like to invite you to attend and get involved.
We’re starting things off with Inverclyde’s Hope in the Square on Thursday 29th August and then we will mark International Overdose Awareness Day on 30th August (day before the official International Overdose Awareness Day), with an information stall in Greenock Oak Mall. Participating partners will come along and share how their service can support the community as well as offer Naloxone Training. On Saturday 31st August, landmarks in Inverclyde will be lit up in Purple to mark International Overdose Awareness Day and the lives lost in Inverclyde.
This is followed by other events including a Candlelit Vigil in Remembrance, a Recovery FootballTournament at Lady Octavia, Recovery Games Gala, Recovery Arts Day and Recovery Walk Scotland. Please see the full list attached to this invitation.
We would love it if you could come along and show your support for Recovery in Inverclyde.
