SAMH (Scottish Action for Mental Health) Gateways
SAMH (Scottish Action for Mental Health) Gateways is commissioned by Inverclyde HSCP and delivers supports to people age 16 and over who live within Inverclyde and experience varying levels of mental health issues.
What do we do
- Staff support people in a recovery focussed person centred way either on a one to one basis and/or on group support, with the support provide depending on the person’s needs and aspirations.
- Enable learning of new skills, development of existing skills.
- Demonstrate a commitment to building a person’s confidence, self-esteem and to become more resilient.
- Outcome planning with a focus on goals the person wishes to achieve.
- Support offers the opportunity to reduce social isolation, engage with local community resources/activities, including access to volunteering opportunities.
- Staff are skilled in delivering therapeutic intervention programmes, to assist people cope and manage life issues, such as reduce anxiety, stress, low mood, assisting to build resilience and confidence.

SAMH Gateways operates Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, with a flexible approach, depending upon a person’s needs and identified outcomes. Support and appointments are planned in advance with a person.
Referral pathway is from professionals within CMHT, Primary Care and Addictions services. Referrals received via gateways@samh.org.uk referral portal.
