Brian had a history of drug addiction over the past 20 years, Brian is 42 years old, meaning that he has been in active addiction for half of his life. Brian was caught up in a chaotic lifestyle and was heavily involved in everything drug addiction had thrown at him.
Brian started engaging with the Your Voice Recovery Team around four years ago. Staff spoke to Brian about a rehab placement, which he was unhappy with at that time. After some ups and downs in the Recovery Hub, Brian finally expressed an interest in going away to rehab, after going through the process Brian entered Be Strong Rehab. Brian has since excelled and grown into a new man.
Brian is now eight months in and living a new life, attending regular boxing classes four time per week. Brian will be progressing into the House Parent role, which gives him more responsibility, being trusted to help others throughout their rehab journey. Brian is optimistic about his future and has been in discussions about his next moves.
Brian recognises there is still work to be done and has continued to stay focused on real change.
