Ashleigh’s life before felt like an unnecessary existence, years of heart break and bad decisions that left her broken; no self worth, no hope of things ever changing. Stuck in the cycle of prison; addiction, abusive relationships. The only escape she found was with heroin and crack cocaine which pushed her deeper into new lows each time.
Just over 4 years ago, Ashleigh was welcomed onto the Teen challenge bus where, for the first time, she was shown that things could be different. Ashleigh seen living examples of how God can transform a life and thought to herself “I want that”. Teen Challenge offered her a life line; a way out of her nightmare. For the first time, someone spoke up for her, they attended court with her and eventually got Ashleigh a place in Hope House.
Ashleigh went on to complete her program where she received counselling and was loved back to life. Never in a million years could she have pictured her life would have turned out how it has now.
Ashleigh got married to her amazing husband who is also her best friend, and 6 short weeks ago God blessed them with their most precious little boy Caleb, whom they look forward to bringing up in the ways of the Lord.
“God is, and I pray that he remains, in the centre of each of our lives. I thank God every day for the ministry of Teen Challenge and the life saving work they do” says Ashleigh.
