Inverclyde Alcohol and Drug Partnership Snapshot on Experiences of MAT

December’s webinar will focus on presenting findings from the MAT EE programme for 2024/25.

The MAT EE programme refers to the Medication Assisted Treatment Experiential Evidence programme in Scotland.

It is part of the national effort to implement and monitor the 10 MAT Standards, which were introduced to ensure people affected by problematic drug use have timely access to high-quality, person-centred treatment and support. For more information on the MAT Standards, please see here: Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) standards: access, choice, support – gov.scot

The programme gathered feedback from people with lived and living experience of substance use living in Inverclyde, to assess how services are delivering MAT standards in practice, focusing on numerical and process data to give a fuller picture of implementation.

We will have presentations from:

  • Claire Torrens, MIST Social Researcher, Public Health Scotland – Claire will provide an overview of the importance of experiential evidence aligned to the National Mission
  • Ellie Fraser, MAT Project Manager, NHS GGC and Heather Paton, Inverclyde’s ADP Coordinator – Ellie and Heather will share insights from the local findings of the MAT Experiential Evidence programme, highlighting key themes from experiences of people in Inverclyde.  Their presentation will explore what the data and lived experience feedback tell about progress, challenges, and opportunities for improving access to medication-assisted treatment.

The webinar will conclude with a Q&A and will last no more than an hour, taking place on Wednesday 17th December, 2pm to 3pm.

The session will be recorded and hosted on the ADP website for those who cannot attend.
