Event Report
Scottish Recovery Consortium (SRC) are working alongside Inverclyde Alcohol and Drug Partnership (IADP) to support the development and implementation of a Lived and Living
Experience panel. A number of engagement sessions have been held with communities across Inverclyde to explore, reflect on, and evidence what communities need and want from IADP. This report highlights the findings from the session held on 11th June 2026.

Building on the findings from the engagement sessions, it is proposed that a small task and finish group is established to take forward the key themes, recommendations and priorities identified by participants. This group will provide a practical mechanism for progressing actions between wider engagement events, ensuring that momentum is maintained and that community voices continue to shape
developments.
The small group will include people with lived and living experience, family members, community representatives, recovery organisations and relevant partners. Its role will be to review the engagement findings, prioritise actions, support the development of participation structures, and identify opportunities to address gaps highlighted through the engagement process, particularly around inclusion, communication and feedback. The engagement findings demonstrated a strong desire for participation to lead to visible change, improved feedback mechanisms and greater influence on decision-making.
The group would report directly into the wider participation network, providing regular updates on progress, challenges and emerging opportunities. This approach will help ensure that discussions are translated into action while maintaining accountability to the broader membership. It will also support the closing of the feedback loop, enabling participants to understand how their contributions are influencing decisions and what changes are being made as a result.
As a next step, SRC will work with partners to agree the group’s purpose, membership, governance arrangements and priority work programme. Once established, the group will develop an action plan aligned to the recommendations from the engagement process and provide ongoing updates to the wider group, creating a clear pathway between community participation, collaborative action and strategic decision-making. This will help ensure that lived and living experience remains central to the development, delivery and continuous improvement of services and supports across Inverclyde.
